First / Third person shooters

The shooter genre was once exclusively the domain of computer games, but as sharper, faster graphics and smoother, more reflexive controls found their way onto consoles like the Xbox, the genre has made a rapid and very successful transition. There are a vast array of shooter titles available for the 360, so just a few true standouts will receive note here. First, there is the Gears of War series. The third-person game in a huge, imagine the world has set players fight in all kinds of environments such as in space, such as the Online Game Battlestar Galactica against malignant subterranean humanoids with a variety of weapons the near future with a very satisfying cover make-to-cover fire fighting system more realistic and nerve-wracking. Oh, also, your primary rifle has a chainsaw bayonet. Need I say more? For those who favor zombie destruction, there is the incredibly well-polished Left 4 Dead and its recent sequel. L4D's experience is like playing a classic zombie movie.

You and three other survivors make your way across four separate campaigns, fighting off literally hundreds of the ravenous undead. The dynamic "AI Director" will change the situation, enemies, ammo and health available depending on how the game is going, so it is never the same experience no matter how many times you play. Another fantastic Xbox exclusive is the Orange Box, featuring Team Fortress 2, perhaps the best team battle FPS ever made, bar none. The design is extremely polished and hilarious. This game is simply the most fun that you can have with an internet connection. Don't believe me? Try it for yourself. Team Fortress 2 is a work of art of a gaming experience, and the Xbox 360 is at a great advantage against the Playstation 3 from this one game alone, without even delving into the four other games that come with the Orange Box, the best deal in videogames ever.
